RV Camping Tips

I recently did a whole Hub page to the fact that Yuma AZ was not a good place to go if you travel with a family, especially in the winter time. the whole town it seems is not kid friendly and it shows with them now being 2nd in the nation in unemployment , I would love to here comments from other full time rv people in motor homes 5 wheels and campers and even tents, please let me know if you had a campground or town be anti camping family.

We had the opportunity to explore the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium recently and were blown away by the entire experience.

The activities and cleanliness of the property were impressive, as were the selection of exhibits which included rare and exotic animals as well as childhood favorites like zebras, giraffes, lions, tigers, and an huge array of monkeys, meerkats, antelope, gazelles, a rhino, turtles, and much more!

With train and boat rides, a log flume and a sky ride – there were a multitude of ways to see the park and receive a mini guided tour on each attraction.

In addition, with spring on the horizon, we got to see a large assortment of new arrivals including a baby lion, two porcupines, and sharks – including some animals that were born the day we were there. What a delight!

But perhaps the crowning moment in the entire day came as night fell in the aquarium and we got a lesson on how to feed the stingrays.

Putting shrimp between our fingers we were instructed on how to slide our hand down the side of the tank and wait for the gentle giants to come and suck it out of our finger.

Enjoy this wakeboard video taken while boating from the KOA Campground in Lodi, California!

One of the most exciting things about RV camping is meeting new friends, and here is a family – the Gruen’s – that we met during our stay at the Stockton Delta KOA in Lodi, California.

Wakeboarder, Jackie Gruen gave us a treat, showing off her wakeboarding skill, while our daughters played with their best friends Victoria and Alyssia.

Stopping for lunch, we beached the boats and the girls had a great time playing in the water and building sand castles before getting back on the boat to round out the day with more tubing and wakeboarding fun.

Thanks to the Gruen’s for a fabulous day on the Delta!
